PCR Hemp Oil is a type of oil that is made from the hemp plant, which is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant with significantly lower amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The hemp plant is a source of many phytocannabinoids, which are compounds that are similar to the cannabinoids produced by the human body, as well as many phytonutrients, terpenes, vitamins and fatty acids.

What is the meaning of PCR Hemp Oil?

The abbreviation PCR in PCR Hemp Oil stands for “Phytocannabinoid Rich”. Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil is sometimes called “Phytocannabinoid Hemp Oil”, “PCR Oil”, “PCR Hemp Oil” or “PCR CBD Oil”.

There are a few types of PCR Hemp Oil, but only full-spectrum hemp oil contains all the phytocannabinoids and compounds found in the hemp plant, unlike broad-spectrum hemp oil and concentrated isolates made from the hemp or cannabis plant.  The types of PCR Hemp Oil are discussed below.

How is PCR Hemp Oil Made?

Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil is typically made by extracting the oil from the hemp plant using a process called CO2 extraction. This method involves using pressurized carbon dioxide to extract the oil from the plant material, which helps to preserve the purity and potency of the oil. When combined with cold, enclosed and continuous manufacturing processes and chromatographic techniques, CO2 extraction yields the best results, preventing the degradation of the delicate compounds found in the hemp plant.

What is a Phytocannabinoid?

A phytocannabinoid is a type of molecule that is produced by plants, specifically the hemp plant. Similar to phytocannabinods, endocannabinoids are a class of chemical compounds produced by the human body that interact with the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system is a complex network of receptors and signaling pathways that plays a role in a wide range of physiological processes, including pain perception, immune function, mood, and appetite.

There are over 100 known plant based cannabinoids. Common phytocannabinoids include delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD), cannabigerol (CBG), and cannabichromene (CBC). These compounds are believed to have potential health benefits, and they have become increasingly popular in recent years as people look for natural ways to support their health and well-being.

Does PCR Hemp Oil Contain THC?

The most well-known phytocannabinoid is THC. It is the psychoactive compound found in marijuana, a distinct variety of the Cannabis sativa plant. Hemp plants contain only trace amounts of THC (less than 0.3 percent), so Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil does not have the same psychoactive effects as marijuana.

Does PCR Hemp Oil Contain CBD?

Unlike cannabis plant, the most abundant phytocannabinoid found in the hemp plant is CBD. It is believed to have a number of potential expected functions, including regulating the inflammatory and immune response, stress, pain control, sleep and brain functions,  similar effects of endocannabinoids that are naturally produced by the human body.

Types of PCR Hemp Oil

There are a few different types of Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil, each with its own unique characteristics:

  • Full-spectrum hemp oil: Full-spectrum hemp oil is made from the whole hemp plant, including the leaves, flowers, and stalks. It contains all of the cannabinoids found in the hemp plant, as well as other compounds such as terpenes and flavonoids. Full-spectrum hemp oil is believed to have a “synergistic” effect (also called “the entourage effect”), meaning that the compounds in the oil work together to enhance the overall benefits of the oil.
  • Broad-spectrum hemp oil: Broad-spectrum oil is similar to full-spectrum hemp oil, but it has had the THC removed via multiple chemical reactions. It contains all of the other phytocannabinoids and compounds found in the hemp plant, with undetectable levels of THC, but less of the “synergistic” effect discussed above.
  • CBD isolate: CBD isolate is a pure form of CBD that has had all of the other phytocannabinoids and compounds removed. It is typically a white powder that is 99% pure CBD.

Keep in mind that hemp oil is often consumed in tincture form for maximum absorption. The compounds in the oil become much easier for the body to absorbe once they are dissolved in ethanol.

Although people’s needs and desires vary, it is often recommended to use a full-spectrum hemp oil extract products in order to receive the full benefits of hemp and other cannabinoids naturally found in the plant. Broad-spectrum hemp oil and concentrated isolates are perceived to be not nearly as effective as full-spectrum formulas.

The Benefits of PCR Hemp Oil

As endocannabinoids produced by our bodies interact with the endocannabinoid system supporting a wide range of physiological processes, including pain perception, inflammatory process, immune function, mood, and appetite, there is a growing body of research that suggests that phytocannabinoids, such as those found in hemp oil, may support similar functions of our bodies as a dietary supplement, including regulating the inflammatory and immune response, stress, pain control, sleep and brain functions. As for the difference in effectiveness between hemp products, full-spectrum hemp oil is perceived to be better than the alternatives thanks to its “synergistic” effect, but of course quality of the final product needs to be taken into consideration when a certain brand is chosen. It is believed that when all the compounds naturally found in the hemp plant are present, they may work together to enhance the overall benefits of the oil.

How to use PCR Hemp Oil

Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil can be used in a variety of ways, depending on the specific product and the desired effect. Some common methods of using hemp oil include:

  • Oral ingestion: Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil can be taken orally in the form of softgels, capsules, gummies, or drops. When taken orally, the effects of the oil may take longer to be felt, but they may also last longer.
  • Sublingual administration: It can also be taken sublingually (below the tongue) in the form of drops. When taken sublingually, the oil is absorbed through the mucous membranes in the mouth and enters the bloodstream directly, which may produce faster effects.
  • Topical application: Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil can be applied topically in the form of lotions, creams, or salves. When applied topically, the oil is absorbed through the skin and can be used to target specific areas of the body.
  • Inhalation: Phytocannabinoid Rich Hemp Oil can be inhaled using a vaporizer or e-cigarette. When inhaled, the oil is absorbed through the lungs and enters the bloodstream directly, which may produce faster effects, but this use is not recommended to those seeking primarily health benefits.

It’s important to follow the instructions on the specific product you are using and to start with a low dose, gradually increasing as needed and always check with your healthcare provider first before you decide to use any natural product as a supplement.
